Introduction

After your Bible reading is created in the Bible Reader app, it moves on to the active Bible reading state and remains in that state until you finish or cancel that Bible reading.

This article describes in detail all the options and features available to control your active Bible readings in the Zoe Psomí Bible Reader app.

How to Access the Active Bible Readings Control Screen

There are two ways you can access the active Bible reading control screen, as described below.

New Bible Reading Registration

The first way to open the active Bible readings control screen is by registering a new Bible reading. After a new Bible reading is successfully registered, the Bible Reader app automatically opens the control screen of the active Bible reading that has just been created, allowing you to start controlling your new Bible reading right away.

Readings Listing Screen

The second way to open the active Bible readings control screen in the Bible Reader app is by selecting one of your active Bible readings, which are listed on the Bible readings listing screen.

The Bible readings listing screen, shown above, is the main screen of the Bible Reader app. It opens immediately after the Bible Reader app is initialized, allowing you to create a new Bible reading, select an existing active Bible reading to manage (which is the subject of this article you are reading), or view the list and details of your completed or finished Bible readings.

How to Access the Active Bible Readings Control Screen

The active Bible readings control screen of the Bible Reader app is the screen you will use most often after creating each of your Bible readings.

It is through this screen that you will make your reading progress entries, view the data and statistics of your reading, and change the settings originally defined in the registration of your Bible readings.

Reading Progress Entry

Each time you make progress in your Bible reading, you must make an entry of how many verses, chapters, books, or which testament you have finished reading.

By accurately recording your reading progress, the Bible Reader app can track which sections of the Bible you have completed and which parts remain. This information is then used to generate personalized progress reports and statistics related to your Bible reading.

Reading progress entries can be made by pressing the circular button with the open book icon , indicated by the red arrow in the image below:

Active Bible Reading Data

The Bible reading data tab, which appears selected in the image below, presents a series of information that helps you maintain a healthy progress in your reading, which is essential for you to finish your Bible reading before or at most by the target completion date you set to complete it.

The information contained in the data tab is designed to give the Bible reader a clear view of the status of their Bible reading, as described below:

  • Reading Progress: at the top of the data tab is presented the overall progress percentage of the reading, which gives you a clear idea of what percentage of your reading has been completed so far.
  • Reading Progress Bar: this bar visually indicates:
    • green color: percentage of the Bible reading already completed so far.
    • yellow color: percentage of the daily reading target already completed.
    • blue color: Bible reading advancement status. The closer you are to advancing your reading by another day, the higher the percentage of the progress bar filled in blue.
    • red color: reading delay status.
  • Today’s Reading: percentage of the daily reading target achieved so far. Try to always reach 100% or more of the reading of the day every day to keep the momentum of your Bible reading always leaning towards your completion target date. Each day you fail to reach your reading target of the day, your reading will be delayed by one day.
  • Chapters read today: number of chapters read so far on the current date.
  • Verses read today: number of verses read so far on the current date.
  • Delayed chapters: the number of chapters delayed in the reading. Ideally, this number should always be zero. Occasional delays are, however, sometimes inevitable.
  • Reading late by: the number of days your Bible reading is delayed.
  • Ahead of schedule chapters: the number of chapters advanced in your reading. Try to keep your Bible reading always up to date or ideally advanced by one or more chapters, to ensure that you will complete your Bible reading within the expected time.
  • Reading ahead by: the number of days your reading is advanced.
  • Estimated completion date: the estimated completion date of your Bible reading based on the current pace of your reading. If your reading is delayed, this date will be later than the completion target date set for your reading (i.e., there is a risk that you will not be able to finish your reading by the expected date if you do not strive to recover the delays in your reading). If, on the other hand, your reading is advanced, the estimated completion date will be earlier than the completion target date (i.e., you will probably complete your reading before the expected date).
  • Remaining time: the estimated remaining time for completion of your Bible reading, also based on the current pace of your reading.

Active Bible Reading Statistics

The reading statistics tab, exemplified by the image below, presents additional information about the current state of the selected active Bible reading.

  • Finished Content: informs the percentage already completed of your Bible reading, as well as the number of verses, chapters, books, and testaments already read so far.
  • Pending Content: informs the number of verses, chapters, books, and testaments that still remain for you to complete your reading.

Active Bible Reading Settings

The third tab of the selected active Bible reading control screen allows you to change the settings of your reading, as described below.
